The Power of Patience

Patience:  Nothing happens over night. It takes time to see a plan fully blossom.  Waiting is never what is wanted, however it enables the seeds planted to sprout, and opportunities to occur.  The problem with everyone who is attempting to accomplish something in their personal life is that most stop short of where the true growth occurs.

How many of us have asked whether or not we would see speedy results with a workout program?  We are a do it now, instant gratification society.  However lets stop for a second and think about the time it took for any major accomplishment to ever occur.  Your first step as a baby took months of continuous efforts and trials to finally get it down.  Not only did you not come out of the gate walking, but you also had to get past the little stages in order to actually get to the step itself.

Those little stages are happening during the middle phase between planting and growth.  This middle phase is called cultivation, and how well we do during this phase will determine our size of growth.

Great opportunities come to those that are patient.  That is an old saying that is very true.  Patience is simply doing the little things everyday to build your great opportunity.  Plant your seeds, do the work that it takes to make sure that your seed sees the growth that you want for it.  The more you put into it the more you get out of it.

Positive Drive!

Positive:  Attitude is key.  So many times many people make a mountain out of an ant hill.  Never giving themselves the opportunity to see past any situation.  Positive thinking allows for solutions to be processed and makes any mountain look like a fun hike.

Manny Pacquiao is one of the biggest names in the boxing world today.  His story is one of poverty and let down.  But if you look at where he is at today you would never think that.  What Manny was able to do is take the situations presented to him at any given time and present a positive outcome in return.  Manny’s parents separated when he was just in sixth grade, and by the age of 14 he was forced out of the house due to the resources that his mother was unable to supply to the household being a single parent.  Manny had enough happen to him in such a short span that he could have used it as excuses for why things were not going right.  Instead, He began boxing more and more each day and found himself on the Phillipene national ammatur team.  Just when things seem to be going right, Manny’s close friend, who was an aspiring young boxer also, died.  Pacquiao used this as fuel to push him into the professional boxing world.  Every time that he lost his work ethic got more intense and focus became better.  Had he never possessed the ability to maintain a positive attitude regardless of his situation, Manny Pacquiao would not be where he is at today.

It is not what happens to us that makes the day, but rather what we do with what happens to us that will make it.  Everyday adds up, and at the end of 365 days our year is a whole lot of little happenings that add up to where we are at that time.  The question is what road are you on?  The negative, or the positive road.

Perseverance Brings Success

Perseverance is something that is ofter talked about but never practiced.  Lets face it, so many times we find ourselves in a position where it is not very comfortable and want a simple way out.  Our first reaction is to normally turn and run away from whatever the difficult situation may be.   The word persevere means to maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly.  Simply put, it is the ability to push through hard times.

Success in life neither happens quickly, nor easily.  Those who succeed have had plenty of times in their life in which they were presented a situation that tested their ability to push through and overcome.  Without perseverance a person is liable to quit at the first sight of trouble.

Lance Armstrong has had a very successful career, and is known as one of the best Bicyclists to ever set foot on earth.  As a young teen he was very exceptional and became pro at a very young age.  He was on top of the world and had everything that a person in their twenties would kill to have.  Porshe car, new home, success in his career choice, he had the world at his hands.

Shortly after Lance’s 25th birthday he began coughing up blood.  In October of 1996 he was diagnosed with Testicular cancer, which had spread to his lungs, abdomen, lymph nodes, and even brain.  The treatment to help with all of this spreading takes a huge toll on an individual’s body.  The ability to just function as a normal human being after is not a typical outcome for such an intense spreading of cancer.

Fighting all the odds, Armstrong won the Tour de France on the first attempt after surviving cancer.  Just 4 years after what most people call the end of the road, Lance Armstrong had accomplished something that most people could only dream of doing. He was able to persevere through it all and fight all the odds.  Regardless of what came into his path, he had the ability within to push through and continue to fight.  Armstrong went on to win 7 Tour de Frances in a row!

Hard times are going to happen to us all, and are going to hit in so many variations.  Whatever it is that occurs, the concept is to understand that there can and will be a tomorrow.  And with that tomorrow brings opportunity.

How this all sarted

My name is Elijah Bryant.  Anyone who knows me would say I am a very positive person who enjoys seeing things on the sunnier side of the street.  My whole life I have been blessed to view life this way and have encouraged others to try seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  I am a former college athlete and coach.  I left the sports world about a year ago due to the politics.  The game I use to love so dearly as a kid was now tainted by the wave of greed pouring into the sports world.  I was unable to fathom being apart of anything like that.

So I looked at what it was that I really enjoyed doing.  Fitness had become a huge part in my life and I was thinking that I could still hold some kind of link with the non political aspect of the sports world if I participated in strength and conditioning.  As I got more and more into it I began to develop a passion for helping others get into the best shape of their lives.

I used to think I was in top notch shape while playing basketball at McMurry University, however it was not until my time with P90X and Insanity that I came to truly grasp the concept of a well rounded workout program.  As I got into the workouts and continued to press play and follow along, I also began spreading my success with how I looked and how I was feeling with my family and friends.  I got certified through NASM to be a personal trainer so that I could better understand the concepts of the human body and its functions.

Two years later I feel like I found my purpose in this life.  I am here to motivate others and help them reach their goals.  Whether it be to get great muscle gains, tone their body, or simply just live a healthier lifestyle, I see to it that I help them achieve that goal.  The happier a person is during the course of their day, the happier they are able to make others.  Positive motion leads to more positive motions, and a sea of positivity will only bring a wave of happiness.

So as I said before, I started on a path and had no clue where it would lead me.  I find myself here today with a purpose and a vision.  That vision is to get as many people as possible living healthier and more fulfilling lives.
